Certified EMDR Therapist

No openings currently, but I do have a waitlist.

The relationship between a therapist and client, also known as the *therapeutic relationship, is considered one of the most important factors in successful therapeutic outcomes. For this reason, searching for a therapist, whether for you or someone you love, can be a daunting task.

I admire your courage to search for a counselor and would like to let you know what I will provide in our relationship:

  • confidentiality

  • a caring, non-judgmental attitude

  • ability to listen empathetically

  • sensitivity to spiritual & cultural differences

  • respect for your feelings & your time

  • determination to help you feel better

  • honesty & integrity

  • ability to integrate different treatment modalities to create the best outcome for you.

Clients who benefit the most from therapy are those who are:

  • motivated

  • committed to treatment

  • actively involved in the treatment process

Trauma & EMDR Treatment

Trauma can enter our lives in many ways;  from natural disasters to abuse and neglect, but also in less obvious ways like humiliation or misinterpretations, or anything that causes us to have negative beliefs about ourselves.  Untreated trauma can result in negative, and sometimes, debilitating symptoms.  Trauma can be successfully treated.  I am certified in EMDR, an evidence based treatment that is very effective in the treatment of trauma.  I would love to work with you to overcome the impact trauma has had on your life.

Internal Family Systems Therapy

Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) allows the client to gain awareness of the parts of self that get in the way of healing and to learn to work with the parts in a compassionate way.  We all have protective parts of ourselves, but what we may not realize is that we need to have compassion for those parts.  They have worked hard to protect us from the pain of deep wounds.  The more those protective parts relax, the more healing can take place.  In this approach, therapist and client work together to help the parts relax and to ultimately bring healing.

Enneagram

treatment tool that I use is called the Enneagram.  The Enneagram creates self-awareness and uncovers the patterns of behavior that sub-consciously drive and motivate us to act in certain ways. If you have had experience with the Enneagram, then you know the value of finding a therapist who integrates it into treatment.  If you do not know about the Enneagram, please contact me and allow me to discuss how it can benefit you.  Click the button below to learn more about the Enneagram.
